YDS is not limited to English; the ÖSYM guide lists different languages by session. A candidate may take only one language in a given session.

Each correct answer contributes proportionally to the score out of 100; incorrect answers do not reduce it. Even so, time is better invested in evidence-based answers than indiscriminate guessing.
Study vocabulary through collocation, word family, preposition and sentence context rather than Turkish equivalents alone. Academic verbs, connectors, quantity expressions and evaluative language transfer across tasks.
Translation requires preservation of the main verb, subordinate clauses, connectors and degree of negation rather than word-for-word matching. Compare options for subject shifts, narrowed scope and altered certainty.
YDS is a large paper-based administration, whereas e-YDS is electronic and capacity-limited. Language, city, date and capacity vary by e-YDS announcement, and payment order may affect seat allocation.
